Marinos Yiannakou

Marinos Yiannakou (MEDSONIC) graduated from University of Cyprus in 2012 with the degree of Electrical Engineering. He received his Ph.D. at Cyprus University of Technology in 2017. He has published so far 12 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 16 conference papers, and one patent (‘Multi-purpose robotic system for MRI guided focused ultrasound treatment’). His main interest is design of MRI compatible robots and transducer design. He has participated so far as a researcher in 3 research grants related to therapeutic ultrasound. He currently the CEO of MEDSONIC and main designer of MRgFUS robotic systems.

Theoharis Drakos

Theocharis Drakos graduated from Cyprus University of Technology in 2014 with the degree of Electrical Engineering. He received a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering with medical physics from Imperial College London in 2016. He is currently a Ph.D student at Cyprus University of Technology with interest on MRI guided FUS compatible systems. His Ph.D research focus is predominantly on the evaluation of an MRI guided focused ultrasound system for prostate ablation. He has experience with ultrasonic characterization of tissues (attenuation, absorption, and scattering) and phantom design. He is currently electrical engineer at MEDSONIC LTD.

Cleanthis Ioannides

Kleanthis Ioannides has a medical degree from University of Vienna since 1996. He obtained specialization in radiology from university of Athens in 2002. He was specialized in Magnetic Resonance Imaging between 2002 and 2004 from the university of Athens. He is the director of radiology department at Polikliniki Igia in Limassol, Cyprus since 2004. He published several papers in the area of MRI. He is currently medical consultant of MEDSONIC LTD regarding MRI issues.

Christos Yiallouras

Christos Yiallouras has a degree in Computer Science from the Frederick University Cyprus, 2015 obtain doctoral degree in biomedical engineering at the City University of London, UK. His research interests include the development of software for controlling MRI compatible high intensity focus ultrasound (HIFU) systems, as well as for the design of MRI compatible robotic devices. In MEDSONIC he is in charge of the software development.
